UPDATE: Legendary Rocker, Tom Petty Dies at 66


UPDATE:  Legendary musician and the frontman of Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers, Tom Petty has died. He was 66 years old.

The website TMZ first reported that Petty was rushed to the hospital Sunday night (October 1st) after he was found unconscious in his Malibu home.

In his career, Petty sold more than 80 million records worldwide, making him one of the best-selling music artists of all time. In 2002, Petty was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.


UPDATE 4:19:  The Los Angeles Police Department have NOT confirmed Tom Petty’s death.

Los Angeles – Tom Petty was rushed to a Santa Monica hospital Sunday night in “full cardiac arrest”, TMZ reports. According to TMZ, medics were able to get a pulse and Petty was put on life support. Petty’s current condition is unknown. Petty, 66, is best known as the lead singer of Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers.
